February 2012

Peter came to the PCCF for an OUI charge. He was invited by one of the other inmates in his unit to attend the Bible study classes and he heard the blessed gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus! He received Christ as his Lord and Savior (John 1:12)! Peter was soon beaming from ear to ear with the smile, peace and joy that accompany salvation, and deliverance from sin (2 Cor 5:17)!

Peter was released and asked if I would be so kind to talk with his wife about Jesus. I told him I would, but felt it might be better if my wife Kim did this. Peter was thrilled because he wanted this love, joy and peace that he found in Christ, to also be shared with his wife Gina! Kim and I invited Peter and Gina over for dinner one night and afterwards Peter and I left so Kim and Gina could be together.

After Kim had spent some time with Gina, she shared the gospel with her and invited Gina to come to church with our family on Sunday. We had lunch at our house after Church and Kim gave Gina a large print Bible and showed her several passages in the Word about sin and salvation. Gina placed her faith in Christ and also has this joy her husband has (1 Peter 1:8)!

The Church was having a women’s retreat the following weekend and Kim invited Gina to attend with her. Gina was so happy to be there and to see the love of Christ among so many women! They really had a great time and Gina is so thankful for Kim’s time and effort to show her what Christ has done for her husband Peter and all who put their trust in Him (John 3:16)!

This is not the only time that Kim has been used of the Lord to minister to a former inmate’s wife! In fact, she has done so on many occasions and while some of you know this, I wanted everyone else to know also! Thank you for your prayers and support for our ministry and please remember Kim and her ministry to the women too!

Woody & Jo of Mission Possible provide tracts and books for the inmates here and they are a blessing to us. Thanks to 1st Baptist of Duxbury for providing Study Bibles! We really appreciate Roxanne Costa, Sally Harrington, Deb McAuley, Jim Mastrangelo, for grading the many Bible lessons completed by the PCCF inmates.

We would also like to thank the many pastors and supporters who have come in to the PCCF to teach a Bible study class: Pastors Gerson Anunciacao, Dave Crooker, Curtis Dias, Jerry Fernandes, Wayne Krause, Doug MacLeod, Randy Randall, Larry Smith, and Bruce Smith.

                                   PRAISE & PRAYER REQUESTS

Pray for Kim as she will be having surgery on the 2nd of February and will need your prayers as she recovers.

Prayer for inmates who will soon be released, that they will start attending a good church, find work, transportation and a place to live.

Praise for the inmates who have come to Christ, who are doing Bible lessons and who are growing in the Lord!

Praise for the brothers and sisters in Christ who pray for, and support our ministry here at PCCF.

We need volunteers to grade Bible lessons! If anyone has a vehicle that they would like to donate to NHCM, let Chaplain Danny know! Some inmates after their release need a car to get back to work!
